Important Information about the Written Test
The Northwest PA Regional Police Testing Consortium will conduct an entry-level police officer written test which will measure critical job skills such as reading, math, writing and grammar skills, reasoning, critical thinking, etc.
To assist in preparing for the written examination candidates are strongly advised to print the (no charge) Reading Comprehension Manual to study and memorize as there will be 20 questions in the written test covering this reading material. Once this Reading Comprehension Manual has been adequately studied candidates are also invited to purchase an optional Candidate Orientation Guide. The orientation guide is not mandatory but will assist you in preparing with practice test questions covering all aspects of the written test. The orientation guide is $10 and will be available for download by following these purchasing instructions:
