Making merry at Mercyhurst North East

Santa will make a stop at Mercyhurst North East on Saturday, Dec. 2, to deliver presents and a day full of fun to local elementary-age pupils.

This marks the 26th year for the free Christmas on Campus event, which is sponsored by the Student Government Association. Last year, 65 children participated.

Throughout the day, children will rotate through stations including writing a letter to Santa, singing carols in the chapel and making cookies. The event culminates in the new Student Union, where kids meet the jolly old man and take home a few presents. (Full schedule below.)

More than 30 volunteers from Mercyhurst North East, including students, faculty and staff, help make the annual tradition possible by donating gifts and their time.

“It's great to see the children’s faces when Santa gives them a gift,” said Rachel Pacholke, assistant student life director. “I'm proud of this MNE tradition that has been going on for so long. Thank you to all who helped, donated, and supported Christmas on Campus.”
