LPN to RN Bridge Program

If you're a licensed practical nurse and are ready to take the next step in your career, the LPN to RN Bridge program at Mercyhurst North East is a perfect way to get there.
Graduates of state-approved practical nursing programs are able to earn an associate of science degree in nursing and prepare for licensure as a registered professional nurse (RN) through Mercyhurst North East’s ASN articulation program. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). 

What can I do with this degree?

Registered nurses assist physicians in providing care to patients who are sick, injured, convalescent, and disabled and provide compassionate care and support for the dying and their family. Graduates will be prepared for employment in multiple heath care settings such as:

  • Home hospice care

  • Assisted living facilities

Job Outlook

According to the the U.S. Department of Labor and Industry, jobs in healthcare are steadily on the rise due to the aging world’s population. We are already seeing shortages of nurses, but by the year 2020, the nation will have a shortage of more than 800,000 nurses.
