Women's Lacrosse Interim Coach
Jim Phelan takes over as the Interim Head Women's Lacrosse program at Mercyhurst North East after spending the last two seasons as an assistant on the men's staff. He will remain the men's assistant coach while running the women' s program. Phelan will guide the Saints into their second season this spring after the Saints won two games in their inaugural season. Phelan, a Farmingdale, N.Y. native, went to Mars Hill, were he graduated with a History degree in 2006. While at Mars Hill College, Phelan played defense and long stick mid-fielder for the Lions. Phelan also served on the coaching staff at Mars Hill for one season. “I am very excited to take over the women’s program here at MNE and I am looking forward to helping the Saints make an impact in the lacrosse world”, says Phelan. “We have talented group of athletes, and we should do well this season”.
