Outcomes and Awards

The Mercyhurst North East PTA program has a 100% placement rate for qualified graduates.

Our graduates are working as PTAs throughout the country, though many of them choose to stay in the tri-state area.  You will find MNE graduates working throughout the Erie area in hospitals, nursing homes and outpatient clinics.  A number of graduates have also taken the opportunity to further their education and become physical therapists.

PTA graduates may be able to assume leadership roles within the profession as well.  A number of program graduates are currently working as regional managers or department managers with a variety of contract companies serving local and regional nursing and rehabilitation centers.

Student Awards
Each year at graduation a PTA program award is presented to the PTA student who demonstrates the most positive influence on their class, serves as an advocate and role model, demonstrates the highest degree of professionalism and will be an outstanding representative of the program and profession.

Recent award recipients include:
2007:  D. Scott Gillenwater
2006: Janet Lacny
2005: Jamie Williams
2004: Chris Lozano

In addition, in 2006, Deborah Marshall received the Medal of Honor at graduation, as well as the Donna Boucher award from the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association, Northwest District.
