Medical Transcriptionist
CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 35 credits is required for completion of this certificate program. Students must earn an overall Q.P.A. of 2.0, along with a minimum of 2.0 in each computer class. Students are required to complete an internship program, where they will be placed in a clinical setting and evaluated jointly by the program coordinator and the employer/supervisor. Students must successfully complete all administrative and clinical competencies before being placed in the internship.  

Upon successful completion of the medical transcriptionist program, students will be eligible to take the MTCP (Medical Transcriptionist Certification Program) certification exam. The MTCP is a voluntary credential program, and is valid for three years after successful completion of the exam.
