Coding Specialist
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 34 credits is required for completion of this certificate program. Students must earn an overall Q.P.A. of 2.0, along with a minimum of 2.0 in each computer class. Students are required to complete an internship program, where they will be placed in a clinical setting and evaluated jointly by the program coordinator and the employer/supervisor. Students must successfully complete all administrative and clinical competencies before being placed in the internship.  The certificate program is also designed to prepare the graduate to take the CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) exam offered by AHIMA every summer.
