Registered Nursing (RN)
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS


Students must earn an overall 2.0 Q.P.A. to graduate.  A minimum of C+ is required in five nursing courses and no more than 2 D’s are permitted in liberal arts and science courses.  A minimum of 72 credits is required for the completion of this associate degree program. Nursing courses combine classroom components and clinical learning experiences.  Clinical takes place in a variety of agencies where students will practice under the supervision of registered nurses. Computer competency must be demonstrated before the end of the first year. Participation in standardized testing and simulated nursing laboratory experiences are required of each nursing student periodically throughout the program.

The following nursing courses are required:

Nurs 220/221 Nursing IV/Lab
Nurs 225/226 Nursing V/Lab

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are required to take the NCLEX-PN examination in order to become licensed registered nurses.
