ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS


In order to be admitted to Mercyhurst North East, you must submit an application, along with a non-refundable $25 application fee, and arrange to have official transcripts sent directly to MNE. All of the above information should be mailed to: Mercyhurst North East, Office of Admissions, 16 West Division St., North East, PA, 16428. The primary admission requirement for Mercyhurst North East is a high school diploma or a general equivalency diploma. Other criteria may include personal recommendations, satisfactory achievement through work experience or a personal interview. Program requirements vary. In this program, preference is placed on high school GPA’s of 2.5 or better, or a GED with completed courses in Biology, Chemistry, and Algebra with a C+ or better. Preference is also given to applicants with combined SAT scores of at least 900, and SATs are required for those applicants who have graduated within the last three years. A skills assessment test to evaluate basic reading and comprehension, writing and math skills will be administered by the college. The applicant will be required to take any prerequisites that are needed based on the results of this test. Transfer credits must be current (within three years) for the science courses. Acceptance into the nursing associate degree program is conditional until receipt and review of a required physical exam including immunization records and TB testing, criminal record and child abuse clearance reports. Students must obtain CPR certification before the third term.
