Medical Assistant
CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS


A minimum of 38 credits is required for completion of this certificate program. Students must earn an overall Q.P.A. of 2.0, along with a minimum of 2.0 in each computer class. Students are required to complete an internship program, where they will be placed in a clinical setting and evaluated jointly by the program coordinator and the employer or supervisor. Students must successfully complete all administrative and clinical competencies before being placed in the internship. Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) exam offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants Certifying Board in conjuncture with the National Board of Medical Examiners.
