Office of Academic Affairs

The Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) assists students with various academic matters including registration, transcript requests, and preparing for graduation, just to name a few. OAA also provides the following services:

  • Enforcement of all college academic policies
  • Preparation and distribution of the college course catalog
  • Academic advising
  • Graduation requirements
  • Transfer information
  • Academic scheduling
  • Maintaining the academic database
  • Processing all enrollment verifications and cease enrollments
  • Course schedule
  • Academic calendar
  • Computer support for course schedule revisions
  • Final exam schedule
  • Verifying and distributing mid-term and final grades
  • Assigning academic advisors
  • Processing change of major and program change documents
  • Identifying and certifying graduates
  • Ordering diplomas, honor cords and caps and gowns
  • Creating a graduation registry for each class
  • Approving all off-campus courses
  • Providing various computer generated reports to faculty to include advisee schedules, transcripts and demographic information
  • Identifying and posting all academic probations, suspensions and dean’s list honors
  • Recording transfer and advanced placement credits
  • Assigning and monitoring classroom usage
  • Registration phase of all new student orientations
  • Conducting faculty orientations, evaluations and academic council meetings
  • Maintaining all faculty and student files
  • Conducting student tutorials for on-line registration
