Honors Program

Are you a motivated and high-achieving student who enjoys challenging yourself? Then consider applying to the new Honors Program at Mercyhurst North East.

In addition to a rewarding academic experience, the Honors Program offers you financial assistance in the form of an Egan Scholarship; a Year Two Scholarship for students returning to Mercyhurst North East for a second year; and a $12,000 Dean's Achievement Scholarship should you choose to attend Mercyhurst Erie after earning your associate degree. Honors Program students are also assigned a special academic adviser and receive special assistance in transferring to the Erie campus if they wish to continue their education.

As a student in the Honors Program, you'll complete at least 12 honors credits (including at least six in your first year) in both your core and major-specific classes; participate in special programming that could include experiential learning or community involvement; and be required to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA.

Any first-time college student who graduated from high school within the past two years and who maintained at least a 3.5 GPA or attained at least an 1100 on the SAT or at least 24 on the ACT is eligible to submit a completed application along with a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or coach.
